FIREHOUSE BLAZE HURTS 8 BRAVEST

By KEVIN FASICK and PHILIP MESSING

November 29, 2008

Eight FDNY firefighters were hurt, including five who were hospitalized, when a fast-moving blaze swept through their Harlem firehouse last night, officials said.

Members of Engine Company 80 and Ladder 23 had just finished battling another blaze at 7:30 p.m. when they returned to find their house on West 139th Street and Amsterdam Avenue engulfed in flames.

No one was seriously injured in the fire. Officials said the cause may be electrical.
